Funeral services for Wayne Frederick Burgett, of Hanceville will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, September 21st at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery. Reverend Jimmy Sawyer will be officiating. Visitation for the public will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home prior to the service on Thursday.

Mr. Burgett was born on February 15, 1934 in Cullman, Alabama to the late Willie Eugene Burgett and Dovie Alice Thompson. He passed away at his residence on September 17, 2023 in Hanceville, Alabama at the age of 89. Mr. Burgett was also a member of the United States Marine Corps and served in the Korean War. In addition, he also received the National Defense Service Medal.

Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Burgett; son, Steve (Dianne) Burgett; daughter, Dina Lynn Mashburn; 4 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Runelle Thomas and Freda Vaughn; and a host of many nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be the nephews of Mr. Burgett.
