Funeral services for Virginia Mae Long-Gunter of Bremen, Alabama will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 22 ^nd at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Dorsey Creek Cemetery in Bremen. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.  at the funeral home on Friday prior to the service.

Mrs. Gunter was born on August 24, 1929 in Jefferson City, Missouri to Everett and Lucy (Gerling) Long. She died at her residence in Bremen on October 19, 2021.

Survivors include her children, Donna Jean (Porter) Bryant, James Long, Charlotte Ann (Marlin) Bailey, Mary Elizabeth (Galin) McClendon, Michael Larry Gunter, George Edward (Rachel) Gunter, Lillie Diane (Perry) Lloyd and Kimberly Lorraine (Briana) Gunter; 33 grandchildren; 60 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gunter was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edwards Gunter Sr.; children, Patricia Louise Oden, Horace Calvin Oden, Sherry Lee Anderson and Thomas Edward Gunter Jr.; grandchildren, Keith Oden, David Bryant, Michael Wayne Gable and Draik Lanier; great grandchildren, Christopher Gable, Michael Gable and Tristan McGill; siblings, Virsil Long, Vernon Long and Maurceen Weldon; and a son-in-law, Jimmy Kilgore.
