Susan Rae Schoppe Christensen, 52, of Bremen, AL, passed away on February 21st, 2025.

Susan was born on February 24th, 1972 to George and Barbara Schoppe in Landstuhl, Germany. She grew up in Plainfield, IL. After Susan graduated from Plainfield Central High School, she went on to study at Southern Illinois University. After 20 years of working in Administration, she went back to school and received her nursing degree in 2012 from Wallace State Community College, followed by her BSN from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

After receiving her nursing degree, she went on to work 13 years as nurse, mostly doing hospice care and correctional nursing. She loved being a nurse and was a dedicated, hard working, and compassionate nurse. Her patients and co-workers all adored her.

In 1995, Susan gave birth to her daughter and became a mother for the first time. In 2006, she met and married her husband Tom and gained a son, Sean.

Susan was preceded in death by her father, George "Jerry" Schoppe and her mother, Barbara "Barb" Schoppe.

She is survived by her husband, Tom Christensen; daughter, Amanda "Mandy" Schoppe; son, Sean Deaton; sister, Michelle (Dwayne) Dupre; in-laws, Jerry (Linda) Rea; and a host of other family and friends.

Memorial service will be held at Hanceville Funeral Home, 100 Michelle St NW Hanceville, AL 35077, on March 4th, 2025 at 7pm.
