Hanceville Funeral Home
3:00 - 4:00 pm (Central time)
A memorial service for Sharon Marie Hoops Skovira will be 3:00 P.M., Thursday July 16th at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel.
On June 20, 2026, our beloved Rea Rea went home to be with the Lord. We are sure she was welcomed into heaven by her mother, Mary Joyce Hanks; her grandmother, Minnie Inez Martin ("Mom-maw"); her Aunt Melba Pope; and her Uncle Clarence "Ray" Martin.
She is survived by her brothers, Donald Ray Kennedy and Terry Len Hanks; her sisters-in-law, Patricia Vaca (Enrique) and Tammy Koepp (RJ); and a host of nieces, nephews, and godchildren. These include Tiffany Diane Sturdivant and her children, Trenton and Teagan; Noah Jack Smith (Jessa) and their children, Roselyn, Jesse, and Izabella; Melissa Chapman and her children and grandchildren; Garrett Lance Skovira (Kenze) and their children, Emmi, Abby, and Levi; Haley Campbell (Jalyn); Valerie Smith and her children and grandchildren; Michael Tyler Savage (Taya) and their children, Asher, Clayton James, and Tucker; Theron (Alex), Skyler, and Katherine (Katie) Arledge; Peyton Brown and Heidi Koepp; and her godchildren, Karyna and Darwin Whalen.
Marie joined the Army National Guard in July 1994. During this time, she also drove commercial big-rig trucks. She didn't enjoy driving doubles, but she could do it. After a little more than ten years, she transferred to the 117th Air Refueling Wing, where she worked full-time in logistics until retiring at the age of 60.
She loved many things, but above all, she loved the Lord. She loved the beach, plants, gardening, animals, music, camping, and riding her motorcycle. She was happiest when spending time with all of the children listed above.
