Ruth Clark Smith, age 74 of Hanceville, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022 at her home. She was born in Blountsville, Alabama on May 24, 1948 to Alexander and Susie Mae Dodgen Clark.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Smith; parents, Alexander and Susie Clark; sisters, Hazel Clark Bush and Mary Clark; grandsons, Jonathan Walls and Bryon Smith. Ruth is survived by her son, Bernie (Donna) Smith; daughter, Susan Smith; grandchildren, Ronda Chambers and Amber (Heather) Battles; great grandchildren, Amelia Smith, Kaydence Battles, Callan Smith and Oaklee Chambers; brothers, James (Betty) Clark, Henry (Peggy) Clark and David Clark; sisters, Myrlie Davis and Betty Lott; a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 2:00 PM from the Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Doug Pitts officiating. Burial will be in the Mountain Grove Congregational Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 1, 2022.

The family request in lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
