Obituary

Master Sergeant Michael Keller, U.S. Army (RET) passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the age of 62 leaving behind a legacy of honor, strength, and unwavering devotion to both his country and family.

Master Sgt. Michael Wayne Keller 62, of Cullman, beloved husband and father was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Wayne Keller and Peggy Lynelle (Godfrey) Keller, his brother, Jimmy Rogers Keller, and Steve Jackson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Tammy Annette Yarbrough Keller, two sons, Nicholas Isaac, Dawson Elijah (Devyn), daughter, Monika Elizabeth Keller. Nine grandchildren, Zander, Zakry, Zoey, Beckett, PJ, Francine, Brentley, Kinsley, and Paisley. One great grandchild, Baylor.

He honorably served in the United States Army for 25 years, retiring after a distinguished career marked by dedication and integrity. His service was a source of immense pride, and he carried the Army’s seven core values of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, and personal courage throughout his life.

Beyond his military accomplishments, MSgt. Keller was a deeply devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was married to the love of his life, Tammy Keller for 43 beautiful years. Together they built a life rooted in laughter, commitment, strength, and unconditional love.

He was a proud father of three children, Nik, Monika, and Dawson, and found great joy in his six grandchildren and one great-grandchild, who brought endless light and laughter to his life. He shared an especially special bond with his only daughter – a relationship built on love, pride, guidance, and a connection that will remain unbreakable.

He will be remembered for his strong sense of duty, quiet strength, steady presence, and the deep love he had for his family and his country. His legacy lives on through the generations he helped shape and the lives he touched with his wisdom and devotion.

The visitation will be held Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 6pm-8pm at Hanceville Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Friday, February 27, 2026, at 2pm at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel.
