A funeral service for Marie Hendrix Thompson of Hanceville will be 9:30 A.M. Friday, June 18, 2021 at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery. Reverend Gary Waddell will be officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Hanceville Funeral Home.

Mrs. Thompson was born on December 27, 1936 in Cullman to William and Annie (Miller) Hendrix. She died at the age of 84 on June 15, 2021 at Hanceville Nursing and Rehab Center in Hanceville.

She owned her own beauty shops and worked several years as a beautician. She also spent some time working at Nicholson File in Cullman.

Survivors include her son, Terry Briscoe; a sister, Louise Foust, and a host of nieces.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Bill Thompson; 2 brothers; and a sister.
