A graveside service for Maddelle Ashwander of Hanceville, Alabama will be 3:30 P.M. Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Hopewell Cemetery in Hanceville. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Hanceville Funeral Home prior to the graveside service.

Ms. Ashwander was born on December 18, 1933 in Cullman, Alabama to the late Maritz George and Ruth E. (King) Ashwander. She died at the age of 88 at her residence in Cullman on January 13, 2022.

Survivors include her sister, Juanita Garrettson; nephew, William Maritz Blakely; and a niece, Anne Merkelson.
