Funeral services for Lawrence Dovers Light, 82, of Arkadelphia will be 2:30 Sunday August 31st at Union Grove Baptist Church in Bremen, Alabama.  Burial will follow the service at Union Grove Baptist Church cemetery.  Visitation will be Saturday August 30th from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Union Grove Baptist Church.

Mr. Light was born May 3, 1943 in Walker County, Alabama.  He passed away August 28, 2025 in Arkadelphia, Alabama.

Lawrence lived a simple, joyful life and will be remembered for the things that brought him peace and happiness. He enjoyed mowing grass, keeping his yard neat and beautiful. Often, he could be found multitasking in his favorite way—watching TV and reading at the same time. He loved sitting under a shade tree, feeding the birds, and savoring his favorite treat—Nutty Buddy bars

Mr. Light is survived by his children, Cynthia Powell (Rickey), Lawrence Dewayne Light (Melissa Ann); and his grandchildren, Nathan Day (Marissa), Makenzie Light, Bailee Light; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mr. Light was preceded in death by his wife, Syble Ann Light; parents, Claude & Maudie Light; his siblings; and his mother-in-law, Ethel Stanley.
