Kitty Karla McClendon, 67, passed away on July 4, 2026. Born on February 13, 1959, in Clay, Alabama. She was the beloved daughter of Brice & Ruth McClendon.

A devoted member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church, Kitty lived her faith through quiet acts of kindness and steadfast loyalty to the people she loved. She was a faithful friend, known for her remarkable dedication to remembering special dates and milestones. Through thoughtful cards and handwritten letters, she made sure others felt seen, celebrated and cared for.

Kitty is survived by her brothers Kent (Denise) McClendon and Kelly (Esther) McClendon, and her sister Kay Gibbs. She is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law Lindsey Gibbs.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 11 at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m.

Her generous heart, and the simple, meaningful ways she showed love will be deeply missed by all who had the blessing of knowing her. Her affinity for Alfred Hitchcock, Andy Griffith and Dachshunds’ dogs will always be remembered.
