Kathern (Kathy) Hood, age 84, went to be with the Lord on June 20, 2024.  She was born on December 19, 1939 in the Jones Chapel area.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Barnett and Inez Barnett Gootee.  She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Fred Hood; daughter, Judy Collier; son, Dwayne Hood (Crystal); grandchildren, Jessica Friedman (Jeff), Matt Ford (Carolyn), Richard Collier, Rob, John, and Kate Hood; great-grandchildren, Gavin Ford, Wiley Collier, William and Ford Friedman.

She attended school in the City of Cullman until her family moved to Hollywood, Florida.  A few years later, Kathy moved back to Cullman with her husband and two children.  She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  Kathy enjoyed reading the Bible, attending church, taking care of family, and being outdoors.

Funeral services were held graveside at Sardis Baptist Church at Addison with Reverend Jimmy Sawyer officiating.
