Obituary

A graveside service for Hollis Wendell Baggett, 81, of Hanceville will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday July 30th at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama. Visitation will be Wednesday July 29th from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Hanceville Funeral Home.

Mr. Baggett was born December 14, 1944, in Cleburne County, Georgia. He passed away July 25, 2026, in Birmingham, Alabama.

Hollis Baggett passed away, leaving behind a legacy of service, dedication, and quiet strength. He was a proud Vietnam veteran who honorably served his country in the United States Army. After a distinguished military career, he retired from the Army, carrying with him the values of integrity, discipline, and selfless service that guided him throughout his life.

Following his military retirement, Hollis continued to serve his community through his work in the IT Department at Wallace State Community College. After many years of faithful service, he retired from Wallace State, leaving a lasting impact on colleagues and students alike.

Hollis will be remembered as a man of honor, commitment, and quiet humility. Whether serving his country, supporting those around him through his work, or spending time with family and friends, he lived a life marked by purpose and dedication.

He leaves behind cherished family members, friends, and all who were blessed to know him. His life was one of faithful service, and his memory will continue to inspire those who loved him.

Mr. Baggett is survived by his children, Jayla Ann Chambers, Amelia LeNette Wisener (Dustin James Wisener), Janette Susan Hipp, Kimberly BreAnna Baggett; grandchildren, Anthony Phillip Faronea, Veronica Lynn Taylor (Justin Craig Taylor), Cody Allen Wisener, Louis Carter Hipp, Crimson Rose Hipp; great grandchildren, Adrian Lucas Faronea, Pepper Ann Taylor, Keiran Henry Taylor; siblings, Glenda Baggett, and Patricia Baggett.

Mr. Baggett was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa Baggett; sister, Janice Annette Baggett-Smith; and his parents, Henry Albert Baggett & Fannie Ruth Chambers-Baggett.
