Hester S. Sandlin, age 70 of Hanceville, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at her home. She was born on July 3, 1952 in Marshall County to George Washington Selvage and Elsie Goble Selvage. Hester worked at Badcock Furniture and at Blue Bell / Wrangler for many years. She was a member of Cleveland Church of Christ and enjoyed keeping children in her home.

Hester is preceded in death by her parents, George and Elsie Selvage; sister, Mildred Pate. She is survived by her husband, Eddie Sandlin; children, Jeanie Marie (Mark) Rhodes and Rebecca "Becky" Mae (Don) Durham; grandchildren, Matthew Durham, Evan Dye, John Rhodes and Hannah Rhodes; twin sister, Esther Selvage.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 10:00 AM from the Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel with Stanley Ryan officiating. Burial will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
