Obituary
A graveside service for Donald Ray Cates of Bremen, Alabama will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Cold Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Cates was born April 29, 1946 in Blount County and died at the age of 74 on January 29, 2021 in Jefferson County.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Cates; son, Rod (Rachael) Cates, grandchildren, Caleb Cates, Caitlin Cates, and Cade Cates; a brother, Cecil (Viva) Cates; sisters, Jewel Williams, and Shirley (Edward) Willoughby; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Cates was preceded in death by his son, Shane Cates; parents, Albert and Lucille (Washington) Cates; and brothers, Wayne Cates and Mike Cates.
