Mrs. Strickland was born on August 5, 1937 in Cullman, Alabama to the late Charles and Lillian (Pesnell) Thomason. She died at the age of 84 on July 21, 2022 at Cullman Regional Medical Center in Cullman, Alabama. Mrs. Strickland loved her family with her whole heart. She raised all five of her children by herself; which also shows what a strong lady she was. She enjoyed hanging her Christmas lights every year and was married to the love of her life for 22 years. At the time of her wedding she and her husband made a commitment to one another to make sure the coming years would be the best she would ever live. She did just that.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Strickland; children, Teresa Holmes (Dennis), Terry Williamson, Tina Hulsey (Richard) Tammy Marino (Lou) and Tonya Williamson (Tim Foco); grandchildren, Amanda Jones, Jodi Simpson, Tonya Burney, Nicholas Williamson, Buddy Williamson, Jared Williamson, Nathaniel Hulsey, Laney Hulsey, Terri Lynn Kelley, Katura Marino and Michael Abbott; numerous great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sisters, Barbara Phillips, Gwendolyn Roden and Lynette Parrish; a brother, Milton Thomason; and a host of many nieces and nephews.
