Funeral services for Barbara Ann Starnes, of Hanceville, will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 14th at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Bethlehem East Cemetery. Reverend Kenneth Terry will be officiating. Visitation for the public will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 13th at Hanceville Funeral Home.

Mrs. Starnes was born on July 21, 1951, to the late Linzie McCurry and Pearl Slatton in Birmingham, Alabama. She passed away at her residence in Hanceville, Alabama at the age of 72 on September 10, 2023.

Survivors include her children, Kim Walker, Kristie Rice (Troy), and Max Starnes; grandchildren, Brittany Wood (Tyler), Lexi Joslyn (Eli), Chris Haney (Cassie), Dalton Rice, Nikki Starnes, and Tripp Starnes; great grandchildren, Kynleigh Wood, Alex Wood, Allie Haney, Emmie Haney, Zeke Joslyn, and Karsyn Joslyn; siblings, Edward McCurry, Bobby McCurry, Gene McCurry, and Cathy White; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Starnes was preceded in death by her husband, Max Starnes Sr.; brother, Jerry McCurry; and sister, Kay McCurry.

Serving as pallbearers will be Max, Chris, Tyler, Dalton, Eli, and Troy.
