Amber was born on November 7, 1983, in Cullman, Alabama and died on May 9, 2026, in Boaz, Alabama. She was a woman marked by strength and devotion, a devoted nurse for over thirteen years, and a cornerstone of love and support.

Amber was known for her headstrong spirit and commitment to her family. She embraced life with a remarkable enthusiasm, cherishing holidays and birthdays with a special fondness. Her dependability and reliability were the foundation upon which her loved ones always leaned. Her love extended generously to her school children, whom she nurtured with care and kindness, she also had a passion for crafting and thrifting. Her family was the center of her world, and she loved deeply—especially her children and sisters.

She is survived by her beloved children, Kylee McGill (Paxton Buchanan), and Aiden McGill; parents, John Whitaker (Sandra), and Kathryn Day; her sisters, Chandra Weinbel (Jason), and Leah Villeret (David); father of her children, Sean McGill; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended relatives.

Amber was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Dianne McGill; her grandmothers, Mary Whitaker Boatright and Ruby Hines; and her grandfathers, Ottis Boatright, Curtis Whitaker, William “Bill” Hines, and Danny Day.

In honoring Amber’s vibrant spirit, her family kindly requests that attendees refrain from wearing black clothing, instead celebrating her life with colors that reflect her joyful and loving nature.

Hanceville Funeral Home is honored to serve the Whitaker-McGill Family.
